Attire
It is important to make a good first impression, and interview attire is a quick way to do that. Attire for PA school interviews is business professional – Savanna Perry recommends suits for everyone. I got one at Old Navy and paired it with a blouse to complete my interview day outfit. With my interview online, it was great to have my attire feel professional and set the day apart.
It is key to meet the expectations for dress code on interview day. Even doing virtual interviews, there were a couple of applicants who did not meet expectations, and they definitely stuck out. Make sure you have the appropriate clothes and that they fit well. Once your answers and clothes are put together, you are ready for your big day!
Interview Day
Interview day is both incredibly exciting and nerve-wracking. The preparation beforehand culminates in what sometimes feels like the most important day ever. There seems to be a lot of pressure, but the best advice I got was to relax! There are no wrong answers during interviews. Be yourself, share about the hard work you have put in to get to this point, and know that the day is just as much about the program as it is about you. It sounds cliché, but it’s true that you are interviewing the program as much as they are interviewing you! The interview is your opportunity to see if the program is a good fit for you. I knew that I was looking for a program that felt personal and wanted to get to know me; the interviews at the programs I liked most felt very conversational.
